The NBWA is always looking for leadership potential in others. By joining one of our Boards, members and non-members have a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills while receiving mentoring from a spectrum of real world professionals. We want you to learn and grow organically; Let’s create long-lasting relationships with like-minded men and women!

Roles & Responsibilities

Professional Advisory Board

To promote ethical business practices, expand our philanthropic outreach, and achieve our long-term objectives, we have established a Professional Advisory Board (PAB). The board is comprised of 3 to 7 non-member Professionals in the field of philanthropy, law, business, public health, education, sports, or related field to advance NBWA mission.


  • Financial management, including adoption and oversight of the annual budget. The fiscal year will commence January 1st to December. 31st
  • Be alert to community concerns that can be addressed by NBWA mission, objectives and programs.
  • Attend and participate in meetings every other month with dates set at first Advisory Board meeting.
  • Advisory Board (AB) will make decisions collectively and AB Chair communicate with NBWA President.
  • Ambassador for NBWA Mission.
  • Bring prestige and credibility.
  • Fundraising and identify potential sponsors.
  • Financially support NBWA in a manner that commensurate with one’s ability.
  • Assist Nomination Committee with election of NBWA Board Members.
  • Advise and assist with strategic, organization and program planning.

Length of Term

Each member is eligible to serve for three years, which may be renewed up to a maximum of three consecutive terms, pending approval of the board.
