The NBWA’s Books and Ball initiative supports the academic  needs of student-athletes, low income and historically underrepresented students as they pursue their educational goals and prepare for the next stage of their lives. The NBWA provides funding to support SAT/ACT preparation, tutoring and academic assistance, credit recovery and other academic needs of the students.

The NBWA partners with nonprofit organizations to address economic, education and health inequities and injustices. During the NBA All-Star weekend and Summer League Retreat, and throughout the year, the NBWA raises funds to support organizations that are addressing critical needs in their local communities.

The NBWA Empowerment Series focuses on the economic advancement of women and families. The NBWA provides business sessions throughout the year that focus on health, business, career advancement and financial wellness. The Empowerment Summit is a staple event under the NBWA’s Empowerment Series initiative.

NBWA’s mission is to provide support, resources, and networking opportunities for the wives of current and former NBA players as well as to give back to the community through various charitable initiatives.
